  2. Test localhost on mobile

Test your localhost site on mobile, without a phone

Getting a local site onto a phone usually means finding your computer's IP address, opening a firewall or setting up a tunnel. For most checks you don't need any of that. Simlord shows localhost on phone and tablet sizes in the tab you're already working in.

Add to Chrome, it's freeWorks in Chrome, Edge and Brave. No account needed.

Simlord runs in Chrome on a computer. Open this page there to add it.

See localhost on a phone

  1. Start your dev server

Any framework, any port, like localhost:3000 or a local domain.

  2. Click the Simlord icon

The page opens in the simulator in the same tab. Hot reload keeps working.

  3. Pick a device and keep coding

Simlord keeps the device while you work, so every reload shows your change on the phone.

Why it works on localhost

Online testers fetch your page from their servers, and those can't reach your computer. Simlord runs inside your own Chrome, so whatever your browser can open, it can show on a phone, from localhost to a staging site behind a VPN.

Logins and sessions stay

The page loads in the same tab, with your cookies and local storage, so you stay logged in to your app and don't have to sign in again on a device.

When to use a real phone

For Safari-only bugs, performance and hardware such as the camera, you still need a real device. A tunnel or your local network IP gets your site there. Use Simlord for the many layout checks in between.

Questions

Do I need ngrok or a tunnel?

No. Simlord runs in your browser, so it reaches localhost directly.

Does hot reload still work?

Yes. The page reloads in the simulator like it does in a normal tab.

Does it work with HTTPS and local domains?

Yes. Any address that opens in your Chrome opens in Simlord.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Your pages stay in your browser; nothing you test leaves your computer.

Try it on your own site.

Free, no account needed. Works in Chrome, Edge and Brave.
